Movie Posters
In my Advanced Design course in the fall of 2022 we were asked to create movie character posters based off of an already existing set. For mine, I chose the movies "The French Dispatch" directed by Wes Anderson and "The Green Knight" directed by David Lowery. I love movies, so I had a lot of fun picking what movie poster designs I liked the most recently.

“The Green Knight”
I never actually saw "The Green Knight", because although I love movies, I fall asleep 80% of the time. However, the only reason I wanted to watch the movie was because of the set of character posters I saw online. I already had a similar font for the gothic yellow one from a different project, and I decided to make the main title font in Illustrator. I modified a font I already had so that it would match the inspiration's style. The image of the girl is taken from a separate photo that I took, then heavily altered the shadows and highlights so that they would match the original's shading. I added texture to the photo and background to give it the same treatment as the other.
“The French Dispatch”
I chose to do "The French Dispatch" because I loved the movie and the director, Wes Anderson, always has creative and eye-catching movie posters. The graphic designer for the movie, Erica Dorn, did a set of character posters in the style of the magazine in the movie, so that is what I tried to mimic. The background of mine is my psychology notes, and a page from my agenda that year. I couldn't find a font similar enough to the one they use for the real poster, so I made that element in Adobe Illustrator and put it on my Photoshop document. The image of myself was cut out of a image of myself and placed in front of everything to look like the inspiration.
